It would be nice to think so, but I guess we never really know until we've done it.

I would do it without hesitation. I wouldn't care if I knew the child or not. I would do it because that child deserves a chance at life. I have had a pretty good life so far and would end mine so a child would have a chance at living too. Nothing wrong with wanting people to live. Thank you.

Hard to say, I'd say no because of this : If I save myself, I'm pretty sure I'll do good for the world, anything I'll be able to do will be done.

If I save the child, I've got 50% of chance to get something good coming to the world and 50% of chance that the child would become something wrong and do bad things (even kill someone).

But there's also the fact that if you die because you save a child, you leave a very bright aura in this world...

Very hard question and I thank you for it.

Yes, and I would expect millions of other caring adults would do the same thing, which brings up another topic. WHY then, are we allowing our government to massacre the children of Iraq? Now don't get me wrong, I never was a fan of Saddam, but let's be realistic here, the death since Saddam's overthrow has been monumental in comparision. I've got links to pictures of what is happening to the children over there and it is brutal, evil, whatever you call violent death of children. It is happening, right now. So WHY do we sit on our hands? Why do we tolerate the slaughter of children? Our bombs are hitting them, just like the bombs of the so-called terrorists. Bear in mind, it is estimated that there are one million dead Iraqi's at this point. Last time anyone checked, there were not one million terrorists. This is a horrible travesty of all that is good and it should end immediately. I firmly believe if we just pulled out and left that no matter what happened, the death toll of all concerned would drop dramatically.

I know there are other financial reasons we are there and I realize we are going to be hurting, financially, if we don't just finish those people off, but hey, I've been broke before and I never killed anyone to pull myself out of it. And WHEN, not IF, I'm broke again, I will not kill anyone to pull myself oout of it.

This is a horror movie and I'm/we're stuck watching it. And I feel like a worthless human for allowing it to continue, but I do not know how to stop it.

So yes, I would die to save a child, but I don't know how to save any of them.

I'd give up my life to save the life of my worst enemy - I just don't understand who wouldn't, unless they have dependants to think about. I'm 17 years old - I don't have anyone who is dependant on me, and I don't have some kind of super-job or something whereby upon my death the world would stop spinning. I pretty much know what i'm likely to achieve in life, but that other person - they could achieve anything. Why should I consider my life to be any greater than theirs?

I'm not afraid to die, but I respect another persons' right to live. To me, the choice seems obvious.

Interesting question. I would make every attempt to save a child, or any human being for that matter, but I would NOT sacrifice my own life for that of a stranger.

I think I would say no. Before I get hate responses, it is because I am a mother of 2 and I would not risk my life for anyone elses child but my own.

Yes, I probably would. I couldn't stand the thought that I might have saved a child's life and didn't.

sad to say but I would not want to leave my own children motherless to save a strangers child, if the child was my nephew or one of my daughters I would not hestitate, I just hope to never be in that position!

I would like to say yes but I'm not sure if I would in that situation or not because i have babies of my own that would grow up without a mother if I did.
