I am an RN. In my area the local junior college takes 4 years for an associates degree. There are 2 years of prerec's and 2 years in the nursing part of the program. We have a nearby 4 year college. (about an hour away). I alwaays tell the students I work with to go to the 4 year school They spend the same amount of time but walk away with a Bachlerors degree. In this day and age tne BSN is definately the way to go if you can. It is so mainstream now that in order to advance your career you must have it. It is diffficult to get into management positions with out it. Management may not be your cup of tea but there are also other options, like research, transplant coordnator, clinical specailists ect. If you can go to the better shcool.
