If your talking about a pay as you go sim card, then you have to just top-up atleast £10 to use it again, and you can get free txts depending on which tariff/deal you chose with your network provider...e.g orange and O2 gives 300 free texts every month if you top up £10 and can get more free txts simply by toppin gup more, have a look at your network provider info booklet or speak to your network provider...However you need a swipe card for topping up which you can use at normal newsagent shops to top-up...
