No person in Congress, regardless of political affiliation, cares about the smaller guy. Democrats do happen to say this more, but only for election purposes.

I'd say neither party really "cares" about the little guy. I think most individuals within the parties started out caring and sought to make a difference, but as they move along through the system, it becomes more about political survival and special interests.
Both parties are guilty of gouging the American public.

I look at it this way my State is a democratic one and we have no industry and very few good jobs. If caring about the smaller guy is thinking about the welfare of others then yea, maybe they do just that, since a high% of my state is on some form of welfare.

The like hybrid cars, which are usually small. So a smaller guy can fit in one and feel normal size.

Well, since every policy they impliment - like increasing minimum wage - seems to severely screw the little guy, I'd have to say...NO!
They're corrupt, lying weasels just like the other side of the aisle.
For Slavery? Democrats.
Against 1964 Civil Rights Act? Democrats.
Elected former Grand Klegel of the Klu Klux Klan? Democrats.
Sure dosen't sound much like a party that supports the little guy.

well... they usually support ideas like welfare, medicaid, education, equal rights, unions and similar ideas...
now you can say that some of those don't really support the smaller guy, but many people think that these programs, at least some of them in some way, do help those in poverty and the lower middle class...
basically, go ask an older person in poverty how poverty was before welfare... how the companies were before the unions, how civil rights were before the civil rights movement, and how hard it was to get higher education 50 years ago...
their ideas may not be perfect...but many have helped many people...

They have always been for the poor people and less fortunate ones. Republicans are for the rich and will always take care of the ones that don't need taken care of the wealthy. Bush is the opposite from Robin Hood who took from the rich and gave to the poor, Bush takes from the poor and gives to the rich
