Which one is the best for kids under 10 yrs old and why?

Assuming you can teach the kids to use the Wii remote (wiimote) correctly and not throw it through the TV, then the Wii is the way to go.
1) It is the cheapest of the 3
2) It has the largest selection of family friendly and kids oriented games of the three.
3) It also has a great sports selection, and coupled with the Wiimote, it really lets the kids (and you too) get involved in the game.

Wii will have more child-friendly games, I believe. Nintendo seems to aim for that demographic with all of its systems. It's also good for parents, since you can easily check on what and how much they've been playing. Certain games, like Wii Sports, will keep them up and moving, instead of being couch potatoes. Plus, you can purchase and download classic console games like Super Mario Bros. through the Virtual Console.

I'd probably go with the Wii as it causes the child to exersize while playing. Additionally, as it's fun, the parents will also paly the games with the child thus making it more social, and more family oriented.
My wife, for instance, who has never played the XBox, PS1, PS2, XBOX 360 etc...plays the Wii constantly...the kids love it!

The Wii is the console for the children i say. Its has a much younger age range because of the games and its interactive gampleay.

Wii. That has plenty of games for the youth. PS3 and 360 want to get all hardcore and stuff.

Wii since all they have is "kiddy" games when PS3 and the 360 has more gore and shooting games. The 360 is still the best out of them all though.

Wii because it is cheaper and has the really cool wii remote. Kids would love the wii remote.
