It depends on what you SUV is being used for.
If used for off road exploration, Go Jeep.
If used to travel on the highway from point A to point B go Mazda. Just remember that most Mazda trucks (B series, Navajo) are Fords.

I would go for the Jeep cause it has a better looking exterior and interior. Its also a better value then the Mazda like the Jeep has Leather in the Commander while Mazda has just regular cloth. Some of the Jeep comes with chrome wheels. Daimler Chrysler makes better value cars then Ford Motors and it more reliable. Go for the Jeep and hit the road.

Definitly 100% sure Jeep has the best SUV on the market. It has won many awards for best SUV and is completely offroad capable and is the only SUV on the market that doesn't come with a not for severe offroad use sticker. Jeep also has the highest resell value I've seen. Most cars loose their resell value pretty quickly but Jeep seems to hold pretty well.

Great offroad vehicles, the inline 6 engines are great on gas, average about 26-30MPG with the 6 cylinder engines, and a miserable 16-18 with those V8's.

For off-roading? Hands down, Jeep. Having an SUV that can actually take the punishment of driving off-road can be really handy.

For fuel economy and in-city driving? Mazda.
