I can connect to my computer at work with remote connection with no problems. But is possible to take files from my work and bring them onto my home pc? I am using windows xp office on both systems.

If you are using the built-in Remote Desktop, I do not believe file transfer is supported in the service. If you are establishing a VPN connection to your work network, I believe you can map a drive letter to your work machine and transfer smaller files (up to 100 meg). For larger files, you may need a dedicated FTP service on your work machine (or equivalent) that is more efficient, has ability to deal with slowdowns, hangs, and recovering from disconnects.

Be careful. You might get yourself into trouble with the IT people at work. You should be asking them this question.
