If the only growing jobs in the economy are minimum wage jobs that can't lift you out of poverty, and middle class jobs are going to China and India, obviously we will have increasing poverty. So shouldn't we blame Bush instead of blaming the victim?

*Everyone* can't go to college and get a better job, right? We can't have 300 million doctors and lawyers, can we?

You're right Johnny 2 Times - it's not Bush's economy, it's Reagan's economy. It just got much worse for poor people since 2000.

Actually Philip McC, median income says nothing about the decline of middle class jobs, and you yourself admitted that income inequality is rising because the rich are getting richer. So we agree.

dkiller, if you work at a minimum wage job at a restaurant or mall, there is EVERYTHING to stop you from making more. They can always fire you and hire some kid for minimum wage!

Michael E - ALL of Bush's policies together create the McEconomy we have today. Why not face reality instead of repeating stale rhetoric about "breaking a sweat". You break quite a sweat cooking fast food, and you're still poor!

Actually, the median income continues to rise, which goes against your theory that middle class jobs are going away and mcjobs are growing.
We have an increase in the divide between the haves and have nots in America because more and more people are getting richer. The poor can't get any poorer. So, the divide is growing, which is a good thing.
And if you are supporting a family and you only make minimum wage, my first question to you would be "Why don't you work at McDonalds? They pay MORE then minimum wage."

Destroys Middle class jobs??
I think you need to take a break from the Pot and look at the online job market.
Go ahead...i'll wait.
edit-
You know, I have worked since I was 11 years old. Lived in a car, a trailer home, seen **** people don't want to see. I raised my *** out of it, graduated Highschool, joined the Service, got TWO degrees while in the field, deploying and 15 hours days. I will leave the service in a few years and have a very nice middle class job.
The jobs are there. The problem is that the youth has abandoned all will to learn a trade or to get an education (high school)
Stop blaming any administration and start focusing on the Parents that let this crap happen.

Is that your solution to everything? Blame Bush? Outsourcing was happening way before bush took office and it will continue to take place after he leaves. I don't hear any solutions on your part, just whining and complaining. If you knew the first thing about economics than you would understand why businesses outsource. Considering you're a socialist and a quasi communist I don't expect you to know about these kind of things. Get a real education and then maybe you'd be able to answer your own questions and just maybe you could get one of these jobs that you're talking about.

Really there is a new limit. The intellectual society must
repress the issues. Mensa, Brainiac, Cherubs and saints
have to be Under God. Then the presidents have an audience.
To play such a mighty part in the charade is to act out the
vowels, and consonants. The trust in the governments plans
has to be partnered with the leaderships good planning. There
is no one left in the military that likes the fight, it is an age of
bad equipping, six eyed magnifying thing anyone? What if
the rockheads had to pay their other bills, say for design or
investment equity? The economic pro will tell you that the base system of the military is the sole owner of the pawns. Now
on to reality. Good jobs is temporary like building, planning,
praying, learning, sharing, and you know what there is for you.
True the public needs more news about what their traditional
land offers for good times. Ride the merrigoround, and do not
get caught in the overkill of the system yap.

Please state your sources to this. Who is "blaming" the poor? I think it is ultimately the governments fault, for creating a culture of people who, for generations, have depended upon government handouts and other subsidies. The fact remains that, while a person may start out at minimum wage, or something close to it, there is nothing that prevents them, through hard work, training and education, from eventually earning more. Blaming the president for being poor is nothing more than an excuse, and a sorry one at that, for being unmotivated and unwilling to work toward changing ones circumstances.

Why blame Bush. These trends (good or bad is debatable) started even before Clinton was president.
Your hatred is blinding your logic.
Addn: What did Clinton do? Signed NAFTA? That is doing alot to keep jobs in the states. You are such a typical liberal. You have no idea at all about anything related to economics.
And BTW freakyperson, the economy is booming, and has been in large part since Reagan. But how can I expect you to see that from your drive-through window?

I don't recall Bush subsidizing Mickey D's! I'm curious to which policies you refer. No one is here to "lift" you out of poverty. If you want to climb the social ladder, get off your butt, look for the next grip, and break a sweat! The "victims" are those you wish to yoke to carry the lazy.

The tax system is what is forcing corporations to move their center of industry elsewhere. Last I checked it was the Democrats who support our ever increasing tax code. So how about we blame the 5000+ pages of rules for taxes and those who support making it even more complicated?

No... Wrong...
You have every opportunity in this country to what ever you want. You just have to work hard and make positive life decisions.
If your an adult working for "minimum wage" you are either lazy, a convicted felon or you take a short bus to and from work.
This is a capitalist society.... you reap what you sew.
If you don't like it.... move to France... Plenty of Socialism there.

When are people going to take responsibility for their own actions instead of always blaming someone else for their failures? Victims? they are not victims. They are a product of their own decisions good or bad. You sound like a product of government schooling. Always following never leading. If one does not take responsibly for ones own actions then they have no one to blame but themselves.
