According to most Ego tripped Presidents & Politicians in the past and present they believe they are America and their decisions represent Americas best interest. And in that sense they have kept America safe.(their own interest.)
Bottom line: We need to have psycological testing done on politicians before they run for any office just to see what there real defination would be to certain words.
The answer to your question is he hasn't protected America and we have yet to experience the worst the terrorist has to do to us. We are just lucky that they have moving target to get at in Iraq.

Absolutely not! And the only reason there are no attacks on American soil is that terrorists are busy in Iraq happily killing the American soldiers in their "god-given oppurtunity."
