Cats

Well i used to have 2 cats, Harriette and Pebbles, and now i have a jack russell Rocky. To answer which is better depends on what u require of your pet. To be honest my dog is just like a child to me, he is one of the family who comes every where with us, but it is hard work because it is a full commitment. On the other hand my cats loved my company but were independent, didn't mind being left when i went out, and just got on and did there own thing, so my answer is if you want an independent pet that doen't follow you everywhere and need your attention 24/7 then a cat, on the other hand if you want a pet thats like another child but maybe even more demanding go for a dog.

Dogs

Cats. They provide comfort and companionship but don' need the high maintenance care that a dog does. You can go away for the weekend & leave the neighbour to feed the cat, but a dog needs to be walked. Dogs poo in the middle of your lawn, cats are much more tidy with the toileting.

Cats can also be trained - my 5 month old kitten fetches when thrown a small fluffy ball

If your older or lonely a cat is better because they are very independent and can take care of them self's to a point. they keep elderly people company and they are easy to care for. A dog is good for a big family with lot of helping hands. a dog needs alot of attention and it needs to run and play and has to go outside for the bathroom unlike cats they go in a box. I like both cats and dogs.

well with dogs you get to play with them more and be there best friend by taking them out for walks playing with them and just taking care of them.

With a cat the cats are more indipendent. If you get a enejetic cat there are more chances you can play with it. Cats love people when they give them some fuss on the neck. But when they want to go out side they will go on there own you dont have to take a cat out for a walk every day.

Well what i think is that they suit a perticula person a dog is for like a happy and outgoing person who is VERY enerjetic and will be willing to go out every day walking your dog.

To have a cat it says you are kind of elegant but still loves playing and says you love your cat if you let him/her sit on your lap and give him/her lot and lot and lots of cute fuss

You could if you wanted to get them and did not know what type of animal to buy. You could get them both because lots of people and a dong AND a cat but the problem is you will have to find the two cats and dogs that go with each other other wise you will have fights every 2 minutes.

Lol so hope i have helped you - it would of been great if you were getting one.!.

they are both lovely. Dogs need more looking after, you cannot leave them on their own as they are like children. Cats are far more independant, maybe not so loving as a dog, but just as good company. My neighbour has one of each and when she takes the dog for a walk the cat trots along behind them too. I would like a dog but we all work full time so dont think it fair. we have a cat though, he's lazy, sometimes unsociable, but when in the mood he is affectionate and playful, and he knows the sound of the car pulling up when we return, we love him.

It depends on your lifestyle. I live in a condo and work at least 12 hour shifts 3x a week. I work 7am until at least 7:30 at night. If I had a dog, who would tke them out. Not only that but who would play with them when you are gone that long. I have 2 cats. They use the litter box, play with each other and know when I am coming home. They wait in the window to see me and meet me happily when I open the door. They come when called, cuddle on the couch while I watch TV and sleep with me. So my life style is more suited to dog.
