I have always admired Elizabeth 1. She was so strong when the politics of the time were rife with plots. She was gifted in that she was able to survive an obviously male oriented era.
Who is your choice?

King Offa of Mercia, one of the greatest Saxon kings of his day- He was responsible for improving the life of his people and I'd love to push the Kingdom of Wessex (the eventual winner of the struggle to unite what would become England) to the limit and see what would have happened if Mercia had led England against William the Conquerer... :-)

I think Elizabeth 1st is a really good choice, I totally agree with you. I might be Emmeline Pankhurst.
Alternatively, Marie Antoinette, or Cleopatra.

But really, difficult to answer, I like modern plumbing.
I'd probably have to go with either Dan Torrence or Jan Berry (aka Jan & Dean).
Between the time they lived in and the music they produced, it would have been nice.
