I suppose it has to do with the fact that Friday is the traditional payday and is considered the end of the work week. Friday evening was the first time you could get together with friends that had other jobs. Since most people could sleep late Saturday morning it didn't matter much that you were tired from work. Besides the adreneline got you going knowing you were going out. Sundays used to be spent with family, or going to church, etc. I guess with all the flex-time schedules this may be changing.

Friday AND Saturday nights are going-out nights in these parts (Pittsburgh, Pa).
I think Friday because people took all they could take at work and need the release asap. A lot of after-work Happy Hours around here, the places are packed and clear out early, too, because we are all so used to being in bed by 9:00. LOL

Some people aren't tired of work from Friday so they go out. Also Saturday is going out with friends as well. They want to spend all their money.

Going out on Fridays was fun when I was younger, but now in my late 20s I opt for going to someones house for a couple of drinks on a Friday and save going out for Saturday night.

Just knowing that your work week is over with and you can sleep later on Saturday morning gives you a new lease on life. We can also go out Saturday night and enjoy ourselves again. Who wants to waste a good Friday night!!

Friday night is a celebration for geting through yet another week of work, reward yourself by going out with friends. Saturday is also a day to go out but i think that firday is better because it lets you let off steam from that week. Saturday is the time you spend getting shopping done, or going places that require a full day. Sunday is for watching football, and relaxing to get ready for the next week of work.
Well thats my opinion anyways...

There is an old saying that I've found to be true: "Glad end makes toil to seem merry." On Friday night you feel free. For many, Friday is payday, so they have cash in their pockets. It's a great time to go out--either on a date or with friends--and relax by having a little fun.

Because people in The U.S happen to be busy working on Saturdays. Unlike other socialist countries, in the U.S people actually work, A LOT! It also gives you two days to find your way back home and to get better from that bad hangover you got on Friday night.

Both nights are considered for gong out as most people who have M - F jobs don't have to concern themselves with getting up early for work the next day.
Fridays, traditionally, are days to go and have a drink or go out to dinner. Saturday is usually go out to a movie, dinner, dancing, theatre, play, or steak night. Yeah, baby!
