I remember back in high school in the computer lab we would go to command prompt in windows and would shut down other peoples computer, but I cant remember how we did it! If anyone can help me out that would be awesome...I think it would be fun to do it in the computer labs here in the dorms!

This is from the microsoft webpage.

-l : Logs off the current user, this is also the defualt. -m ComputerName takes precedence.

-s : Shuts down the local computer.

-r : Reboots after shutdown.

-a : Aborts shutdown. Ignores other parameters, except -l and ComputerName. You can only use -a during the time-out period.

-f : Forces running applications to close.

-m [\\ComputerName] : Specifies the computer that you want to shut down.

If on MS Windows, open a MS DOS prompt, try the "shutdown" command. To do it interactively, use the "-i" argument.

If you are on a UNIX or Linux system, try using the "shutdown" command after a telnet, ssh, rsh, etc... to the system you intend to shutdown. You may also find "halt" on some of those system.

And you wonder why tuition is so high for a lot of these colleges. Doing stuff like that is kind of childish don't you think??

Sure, and if you shut down someones computer while they're running a program, you'll screw their comp. up !! GOOD THINKING!!
