My ex-mother-in-law, beyond all doubt. She actually wore a black cape to our wedding. From that point on, my family referred to her as the "Wicked Witch of the West" (they didn't tell me, though). She tried to dominate our entire lives, criticized my family for no apparent reason, called me "Pollyanna" as an insult, and was completely convinced people were trying to kill her. One time she ran over my foot as I was getting out of the car with my (later)ex-husband, and told me it was my fault because she didn't know I was getting out, too! She had a cocker spaniel that she kept in a cage in her living room. She never let it out, as far as I know, and just let it make messes in its own cage. Thank God we never had kids--that means I never had to see her again after the divorce!
