Since your homepage is pointing to http://protectionwarning.com/ , this means your PC is infected with a trojan called Zlob Trojan. Of course it is important to get rid of protectionwarning.com, but it is just as important to also remove the Zlob Trojan that implanted it there. In my experience, a program called SpyNoMore is your best bet in removing the Zlob trojan. By removing this trojan, you will also get rid of protectionwarning.com. Another symptom of Zlob Trojan is that it generates fake warning messages like:

System Alert
Critical System Error
System Performance monitor warning
Security Alert: NetWorm-i.Virus@fp
W32.Myzor.FK@yf

It sounds as though your computer is infected with Spyware. A common trait is browser hijacking or redirection. This means that the spyware has taken over your browser.

There is a how to article at;

http://www.goitexpert.com/en/index.cfm/2007/1/16/Make-SpyBot-run-automatically

It explains how to set up automatic spyware removal, and automatic scanning so that you don't have to worry about stuff like that anymore. It's pretty good, it has screenshots and everything.

http://www.cyberwalker.net/columns/oct02/241002.html will give you teh basics on how to switch back to your desired homepage, but READ the whole article.... it is quite probable that you've gotten hit with some sort of adware or syware that is doing this.

You need the following stuff:
Spyware Blaster (free)
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

AdAware(free personal edition)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

SpyBot S&D(free)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Install and update, then run all...

If you still have problems, go to
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis
and download HijackThis, run program and save report, then go to Windows BBS http://www.windowsbbs.com/forumdisplay.php?f=41 and post a
message there.... VERY helpful people!
