Deep self-introspection and talking to others online who are also questioning their gender helps. If you decide that you really don't like being what gender you are, or have other questions, you usually go to a gender therapist and talk about your problems.

Read Kate Bornstein's book "My Gender Workbook" and other books (memoirs) from trans individuals whichever way you're thinking of going (for MtF, Erica Zander, Jennifer Finney Boylan, Jane County, Rupaul, Aleshia Brevard, Deirdre N. McCloskey, Christine Jorgensen, Donna Rose, Rosalyne Blumenstein, Calpernia Sarah, and Leslie D Townsend; for FtM, Dhillon Khosla, Matt Kaily, Jamison Green, Billy Tipton, Max Wolf Valerio, Paul Hewitt, Mark Nicholas Alban Rees, Rico Adrian Paris, Mark Angelo Cummings, and C.C. Saint Clair's "Morgan in the Mirror"). Hearing other people's experiences and interior feelings can really help you navigate your own.

You can also start seeing a gender counselor for real deep introspection into your gender.

Most important is to not stress out, don't freak out, and give yourself lots of time to think things over and until you've made a decision either way, you don't need to go around telling everyone (unless, of course you want to, in which case, go for it!).

Good luck!

these websites have been very helpful for me to learn more about exactly what the options are and what the feelings in my mind are all about.

transgenderism and transsexualism are very real issues. many people truly do feel they were born in the wrong sex and many do feel that they can't be happy unless they change to a point.

transition is very costly, both in time and money.. female hormones take years to really kick in.. it's gonna be one heck of a long tough 5 years for me, but i know that this is what i have to do..

As soon as possible get a sex change. The longer you wait the older you'll be and you will only look like a man in a dress.

I never questioned my gender, I openly accept the fact of who I am and so should you.

Time/life is short. If you don't like something, change it- and do it now.
