We have Black History month, okay, but why don't we have a White History month? I mean wouldn't it be fair to white people to be as much involved and intouch with our ancestery as blacks. I just don't understand this. Would it be racist if white people had a White History Month? I mean someone explain to me why white people in the 21st century are still paying for something that happened so long ago. I do not feel like I should still be feeling punished for something that is long time gone. To me, not allowing white people to have a White History Month is racism towards whites.

WE did not do anything to black people. See thats why we can't get past all of the B S because people keepsaying that I am doing something wrong. When all I do is go to work and take care of my children everyday. I don't see a black person and walk 20 feet out of my way to get away from them, I walk right up next to them and talk to them as if i were talking to my brother. So DO NOT tell me that I have done something bad to black people.

Okay this statement might make some people mad but there IS reverse racism in this country. There is racism towards white people just as their is racism towards every other race. It isn't talked about often but it happens.
I don't really agree with the whole "White History Month" thing, simply because most of what is taught in history classes in America is white history... so basically 11 months of the year are White History Months. That really isn't right, in my opinion.
I think it's important to focus on black history and having one month to focus on it really is not enough, in my opinion. It should be incorporated year round alongside the rest of history.
It is not a "punishment" to learn about that section of history and what people had to endure. It is education. It is important to understand what african americans contributed as well as the struggles they faced and overcame. Knowledge is power. We should never forget, because if we forget it completely disregards a huge chunk of history (OUR history, as a people. All races included) and it is a part of history that should never be repeated.
"History" should be all-inclusive. It is sad that even today we exclude some parts of history to the degree that we have to dedicate special times to celebrate, mourn, and remember certain sects of people who were and are just as important as everything else. But until the day when we can stop segregating even facts it is crucial to make sure it is not left out.

I believe white people should have a month, yea we have a few hoildays out of the year to get out of school and work, black people get outta school and work for those days also so it really isnt WHITE thing is it? Black people get a whole month and its not fair. White people back in those days did wrong yea they did but why do WE (today) have to pay for mistakes made 100's of years ago, if you ask me thats WRONG. If you ask me some black people are acting like big babies when it comes to this topic. Wow you lived on a farm and you did stuff for a white person and didnt get paid. ( like i posted another answer on another question) How do you think the Jews felt when they were taken from their home ( yea i know blacks were taken from their homeland too, but i think every black person would rather be in american today then back there) and took trips on trains when most of them DIED on and when they got to the death camps they were put into 2 lines, you had a chance of getting into the WRONG line and being sent off to die getting shot in the head and being pushed in a hole w. 10 more bodies is something i would never forget if i were watching from a distance. I dont understand people these days. Black people need to understand they could have stayed over there but some white people did force people over here yea i understand that but my history teacher said there is proof that black people wanted to come over here for work and to help their family out.

First, I am white. All history is White History. If you look at the amount of published information about western European history, it is the largest volume out there. Your better question would be a specific set of white history.

I believe the general response you will receive is this: Whites have had white history centuries, meaning whites are highlighted and have been throughout our history and they are trying to bring highlights to the other minorities that have been downplayed through years of oppressions and bias.

because it didn't just happen hundreds of years ago, it continues and probably will continue to happen.
we don't need a white history month - it's white history month ALL YEAR LONG
giving blacks the 28 day (sometimes 29) day period to express their pride in their culture, and to share it with others is despicable. to me, it is like the world saying, "if we give you the shortest amount of time possible, will you just shut the f*ck up?"
