my brother lost his birth certificate what should he do.

Apply for a replacement at the city probate court....they hold death, birth, marriage, and divorce records....most times birth certificates can be obtained at a satellite office....(city records)

he has to go to the hall of records in the county where he was born. Some jurisdictions allow you to request a birth certificate over the Internet or the telephone.

Go to the courthouse in the county where he was born and get another one. Or call the courthouse if you don't live nearby and ask them how to get one in the mail. Not a big deal. Small fee though - like $10 if I remember correctly.

Contact the department of Records for the state he was born in and order another one; or go to the hospital where he was born and see if they can provide one.

NOte: Each state is different; check the webpage for your specific state government and there should be a "How to" for vital records.

It should be on file at the town hall of the town where he was born. You can get a copy for a small fee.
