Really who cares what you named your dog, but when comes people they can be touchy. I still like the sound of Maggie Jean Sands.
If Maggie is touchy and you are not sure of Margaret Jean Sands, which oK - uh why not go for Margo Jean Sands.
Margot Jean Sands perhaps?
Who knows perhaps the name Greta will be come popular.
Greta Jean Sands.

My mom's name is Margaret Jean . . .my sister is Teresa Margaret and her daughter is Margaret Marie. Mom's nickname is Peggy (she is 68), and my niece goes by Meg. My sister really wanted to use Greta as a nickname for Margaret, but her husband wanted Meg. My brother had a cat named Maggie and when his daughter was born the cat became Marguarita and his daughter was named Maggie.

I think it's wonderful to use old-fashioned names as the formal name. Margaret has so many wonderful nicknames. Here's a link with nicknames. Best of luck!

By the way, my grandmother is SADIE . . .just like the name of the comment above mine :)

I like Margaret but not so hot on Jean.

I prefer traditional names over trendy and made-up names and spellings.

I like Maggie and Margaret, they are lovely, you could also try Marguerite. I think it's a beautiful name. I would probably consider Marguerita if it wasn't the name of the drink. Too bad..

Margaret is lovely, though I am rather neutral towards Jean.
