This is his first full season and they went to the Super Bowl. Can't anyone give him some respect?

As in STOP criticizing him

He didn't take them to the Bowl. It was the defense bailing him out in games that took them. He needs to get more consistent.

Yes and no. I think he is a good quaterback when he is on but when he is off he is horrible. I mean I know other QBs have bad days but he is so inconsistent that it effects the whole team. I mean one week he can have a passer rating of 120 and the next week have one that is 0. That is not good. HOWEVER, like you said it is his first year and they did get to the super bowl. and for the comments about how the Bears D got them there, if that was the case then why didnt the D win it for them if Grossman didnt have any impact as to how they go there? The D was horrible that game too. The reason I think they need to keep giving him a hard time is because maybe it will light a fire under his butt and make it his goal for next season to be the MVP of Super Bowl XLII. But I also think that he does deserve some credit. He can be a great QB too. Well hopefully Rex will get it together and play as good as we all know he can and do it consistently.

I couldn't agree with you more. I mean after all it took Payton Manning 9 YEARS to get to the Super Bowl!

As a Bears Fan I think Rex Grossman did well, sure he could use some "seasoning", but that will come in time.

The bears didn't win the superbowl because rex grossman didn't have any playoff experience. I give Grossman some creit though, because a lot of QB's in thier first full season won't make it to the superbowl. I think he just had a few bad games, like the one againts the cardnels, and he had not played that much in the past seasons, so this was actually a good year for him. he will continue to improve.

He needs to improve if he wants any chance of keeping his job as a starter. As for leading the Bears to the Super Bowl, Kyle Orton had a 10-5 record and the Bears won their division last season while Rex was hurt. The Bears defense and run game is what got them to the Super Bowl.

Really he had a pretty good season. If he wasnt so up and down he would have made the Pro Bowl. He had better stats than Tony Romo and the Bears won more games than the Cowboys, so I still dont understand why Rex wasnt selected to the Pro Bowl over Romo.

I must say Rex had a tuff year YES he MADE it to the SUPERBOWL however he was really up and down all year. He needs to be consisent if he wants people OFF his back! and the superbowl game didnt do too much to help ME stay off his back as a matter of fact I bet he wont be the Qb next year, Lovie is a good coach and hes gonna get his team a Qb!

Its after the probowl, this question, like many other offseason, nonmattering, subject should not be asked. Im tired of seeing this question. He is a fine QB and his stats are better than payton mannings first full year as a QB so lets get off him and I guess we will find out next year. And btw, Peyton M threw like 6-7 more INTs his first year. So we will have to wait and see before we can answer questions like this. Lets talk about current football questions like trades that will happen and new coaches. Not this crap.

Yeah, the Bears need to lay-off Grossman. Let him go as a free agent.
