The "cold" faucet will turn off but it has to be lined up properly. The facuet simply turns in a 360 degree circle with no stopping point to shut off the water, unless it is lined up properly. Can this plastic stem be replaced? Thanks

that new assemble fits into a small seat valve? not sure if that's what it's called. you should have changed that seat when you had the assembly out. it's a cone shaped piece that has an X missing from the bottom (that's where the water comes into the assembly part before coming out the spigot. take the assembly out again and look in the assembly hole that the valve came out of. you can but that piece for less than $1.00. there is a tool that you place in that X hole that you then screw out. using that same tool you put a new one in. i've done that a couple of times. the hardware store that i purchased those pieces LENT ME the tool to do that job. left a small deposit, and when i returned the tool i got my money back. it was an ace hardware store. ask the clerk at the store if they have a loaner policy. it is a seat valve but not sure what you mean by under the sink. good luck to ya

I bought a Moen faucet and some time later it started leaking. I went to their web site and found the replacement part I needed and got the number, called them and gave them the number and they sent me the replacement part. No charges and no questions asked.. Give it a try, you have nothing to loose...

Moen is guaranteed for life but try to collect on it. HAHAHA. I tried on a 3 year old.$120.00 faucet and they want a sales receipt plus a copy of the warranty[they say to make sure I didn't buy it in another country, yea right] . who keeps that crap and they know it. I wrote them back and said "Piss on you and your faucets". Yes it can be replaced, just thought I would relay how they do business

I'm sure it can be. I would go to their website (see below). We had the exact same problem with our kitchen faucet, although ours is from a different company. They sent us a free replacement promptly for both hot and cold, even though we only needed it for the hot. That fixed the problem right away. I hope you have similar good luck!

We have used Moen since we bought our first home years ago. We have never, ever had one single problem taking the damaged piece and/or set in for replacement and expert advice.

Take the offending bit with you to the suppier/retailer/ when they're not busy and ask! Retailers want your repeat business. They want you to be informed and happy.

We've used both a Canadian outfit called Rona or Home Depot.

It can be replaced, OR you can get a rebuild kit for it. Take the old one out and bring it to a plumbing supply store. If you can't get it out, buy a new one and follow the instructions on the package as to how to do it. They cost about 30.00 bucks for a stem and around 14.00 for a kit.

Sounds like the limit stop tabs have worn or broken off. Shut off the water. Remove the handle and the cartridge and go to a home improvement store to buy a new one. should be under $30.00. very simple and cheap repair.

Honestly, you might be better off, in the long run, replacing the faucet.
