It depends what the photos are of and where they were taken.

Could it be a reflection of some source of light?

I have a photo of my daughter from a few years ago, in the background there is a picture of a girl, the camera was new and we dont know the person in the pic, also it was instant film so we cannot say it was tampered with in any way by the film developers.

Can you let us see the photos? Put them on flickr or your blog?

Without seeing the photo it would be difficult to assess the image appearing in the photo. Typically these are reflections of light from the flash or off of objects in the room or even from dust, bugs or other airborne debris.

The Orbs as spirits theory has very little evidence to support it, despite what you see on the internet and unfortunately there is little true scientific work being done to correlate the two. If the spots appeared the same time you experienced an apparitional sighting then I might say it could be spirits, but if all you have is orbs on pictures then I would say it is a natural photographic occurrence.

They sound like they are orbs. Orbs appear transparent, but sometimes they can appear to glow too. I'm not sure if someone HAS visited you - but thats possible isn't it? You can ask the people on ghoststudy to have a look at them, and tell you more. Here's the website: http://www.ghoststudy.com . When you submit your photos, they sometime feature them on the monthly gallery. =)

Oh, there is one thing you should know though. Sometimes when dust appears before your camera, the flash from the camera reflects on the dust - making them appear round, or/and bright. Orbs on the other hand, are supposed to show some sort of movement. If you've taken a 'sequence' shot - then you may have proof of that.

there are claims that orbs are simply cellulose particles of a very small size or small water droplets reflecting back the flash from digital cameras appears to be confirmed by tests.Orb testing can be confirmed by photographers and other paranormal investigators. Now this only explains the mystery of the origins of orbs by recreating in a controlled setting. Orbs being defined as lights with circular and semi-transparent features. This does not explain all lights, light balls or other still unexplained paranormal activity, for more information check the link in the "source bar"

"Orbs" are commonly miss labeled as a spirit. Typically an orb is a refraction of dust particles in the air - usually the flash will hit the dust and bounce back at the lens...

It could be light reflecting somewhere, but here we have a haunted cemetery called Bachelors Grove, that is notorious for these "orbs" which are supposed to be examples of paranormal activity. However if they came from 2 different cameras it is unlikely that this is a coincidence. Cool!! Can you post the pics?

This is actually due to light refraction. If you watch most haunted, their 'orbs' are usually specs of dust or moths. The light somehow reflects through the lens. It will seem orb shaped due to the curvature of the lense or the internal reflections.

They definitely could be orbs - maybe a ghostly or spirit visitor who wanted to say hello via the photograph!
This is a good webpage on orbs and ghost lights:

It depends on the size and structure of the orbs. It could be dust. Dust particles reflect light from flashes of cameras esp. digital ones. It could be orbs though. What do you think?

It could be ghosts, but you need to be able to determine paranormal orbs from natural orbs such as dust, rain, reflectors anything that could reflect. Usually if they are paranormal, they will cast a shadow, or will have a trail behind them as they move.
