I've never seen a lady who exposed her bare feet & ankles in classic pumps with no hose or stockings. I think it's about time especially for stewardesses on planes- female flight attendants & other businesswomen to go barelegged.

I saw on Ripley's Believe it or Not! an episode where stewardesses wore sexy lingerie on planes, but I don't recall the airline name. Do you know?

Now a days not wearing hose or stocking w/ closed toe pumps is not a bad thing and definitly not unprofessional. It's what you decide to wear w/ the pumps that makes you look professional. Being barelegged w/ pumps is pretty sexy but that's besides the point. You would look just as professional and sexy w/o stockings it's how you make the clothes look and how you carry yourself. A good thing to do is, wear what you want w/o hose or stockings then look @ yourself in a full body mirror and ask yourself if you look appropriate. Hope I helped.

I'm a full-time barefooter for the past ten years but before that I rarely wore pantyhose either, I think I've owned three pair of hose in my entire 28 years before I started barefooting, two skin-tone and a black. I only wore them a few times, almost immediately got runs in them! They're terrible impractical, I didn't understand how people managed to wear them more than two or three times, nor did I care enough about fashion to find out.
Nor did I shave my legs. I just don't care what people think, I guess even before I heard of barefooting in public I was already a bit of a hippie. I must add I'm European by birth, not shaving is far more common here, not the majority but enough people don't shave that it isn't a big deal when you don't. But I also have light hair, it's not very obvious. I never got a comment on not shaving even in the five years I lived in the US (college & the years immediately after, and yes we did talk fashion etc among friends since most of them were more interested in it).

All the time. I only wear hose if I have to they are uncomfortable and hot in the summer and you have to worry constantly about getting a run. I just make sure my legs are extremely smooth maybe a little bit of tanner in the winter to even out the skin tone and I'm off.

I do go barelegged especially in the summer...hose are hot! You just have to pay special attention to your legs if you want to go barelegged. Keep them shaved and use lots of moisturizer, oh and wearing good fitting shoes is really the key to pulling it off.

In a professional setting or in uniform stockings complete the look but aren't always necessary just because a woman is wearing a dress or a suit in all settings. I haven't worn stocking for 10 years. I find them uncomfortable and awkward. I instead take really good care of my legs..shaving, keeping them moisturized and scar free.

Maybe they shouldn't shave either. You are disgusting, get back to the farm and find a hayseed that wants to run around half naked with dirty bare legs and shorts. Pumps were made to be worn with nylons, and that is the way they should be worn. Go hang around a bathing suit contest if you want to see pumps and bare legs.

No it isn't about time. They are in a business. To arrive at work barelegged, is unprofessional. They are not wearing a sundress, they are in business attire, this is just part of it. Same for men, they wear business sock, or mens hosiery to complete the suit.

Not to work.
The point of professional dress is to put oneself and everyone else around into a professional frame of mind Properly matched stockings add professionalism to one's outfit.
Save the bare legs for the beach.
