I seriously doubt this, I watched a program before on TV and they said if you have WON money you wouldn't need to send away your own money to get it..because then you wouldn't be winning...why would they make you send money just to send you lots more money? They might as well say you won £999509.45.
Is there a number you can ring, some contact details...make sure that the phone call doesn't cost you though, because that's another scam!
If you think they send that to 10 people who send them the moeny they already have 4905.50 dont they? 100 peoply its 49 thousand pounds !
I suggest you take a lot of care about this, and read the following website:
http://www.data-wales.co.uk/nigerian_lottery.htm
Scammers can make a lot of money out of things like this !
Hope this helps

My local news had a segment about this type of overseas lottery and said it was a total scam. I believe that it also said that you would not be able to claim the money because you have to live in the UK, or something along those lines. Just ignore it.

It's a common scam. These emails have been circulating for a while.
If you receive ANY email from anyone you don't know asking you for identification and/or money, don't oblige them unless you are looking to be a victim of identity fraud and theft.
There is a saying: If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. It's a saying for a reason. ;)

Its a scam. they are taking your personal information and will use it to scam you out of money.
if you won anything, do you really think you would have to pay to get it. Send them the 490.55 pounds and you'll never see your money or the "prize" again.

Not real, many scams are of foreign disbursement amounts to make sound more legit. Report as spam to Rip-off.com and BBB.com. Expose them and let them know they are a scam, so no-oneelse is hurt by these people.

It is a SCAM! There is no such thing. Lotteries do not make you pay to collect the prize.
