There are a couple of ways:

One is to go out and get a DVD recorder (DVDirect® MC3 Multi-Function DVD RecorderspacerVRD-MC3). You plug the VCR Outputs into the DVD recorder and record. Or ...

Get a Video input card for your computer (AverMedia makes a few). You have to be able to open the computer and plug in the board. You can also try to get a USB converter (Belkin makes one). In either case you plug the VCR outputs into the video converter and record. This method is nice because you get to store the video on your computer and edit it before making the DVD. By the way.... Your computer needs to have a DVD burner.

You will need an extra piece of hardware to connect your analog VCR to your digital computer. Once you have that, it is pretty easy to load the tapes and burn them on DVDs.

If you have a Mac, you can also easily edit the tapes before burning to DVD by using iMovie.

You could do it through your computer, but it would be much easier to buy a DVD Recorder/VCR combi.
