Yes and no. In some ways I say no because you don't want just anyone being able to adopt kids. But also I say yes because there are a lot of GREAT families out there that would provide good homes for these kids but maybe don't meet the financial requirements!

No,
I believe it should remain as it is. The interests of the children must always come first and if that means being a little over-zealous with the pre-adoption tests, so be it. I and my wife have adopted a sibling group of 3 boys and know very well how tough it can be to (a) get approved as a prospective adoptive parent, and (b) be matched with waiting children. It's worth it in the end.

With all the fierce screenig that is required to become an adoptive parent, sometimes it isn't foolproof. My husband was adopted, and his adoptive parents were full blown alcoholics. So much for the screening process.I wouldn't give a child to just anybody, but waiting years seems excessive. So yes,in some areas,it should be easier.

Adoption of what? Children? No.
It is important to place a child in a loving and caring family, with a stable home life. The parents should be able to provide a safe & nuturing environment for the child. The parents should be able to provide for the child's emotional, physical, and mental (education) needs. The parents should be psychologically fit for raising children.

The potential parents should be screened throughly. But the cost should not be so outragous. Obviously, someone is making money on these children. Many loving parents would like to adopt but money keeps them from doing so. We must realize that just because someone has money does NOT make them qualified to raise a child.

Yes- only in the way of cost wise.
The same background investigations, etc,. should be employed though. It's just soooo expensive and that bars many good, potential adoptive parents from doing it. Especially with U.S. adoption agencies.

Potential parents should be screened thoroughly - after that they should be able to quickly proceed with the adoption without outrageous costs.

it should be made cheaper. If a couple really wants a child and cannot have one naturally they might be steered away from adoption because it is so costly.
