What worked for me:
I got into a hormone-driven, knock-down (not literally) argument with my husband and threw him out at one am.
Two hours later I had to swallow my pride and call him as I went into labor. It figures. :-p
BTW, 41 weeks is the AVERAGE for a first baby, not 40 weeks as so many people think. Baby will come when s/he is ready. Mine came naturally at 41 weeks and a day, and that was after fending off overzealous OB/GYNs who wanted to induce at 37 weeks because I was already 3cm dilated and "might not make it in time". Much as I would have loved to have had a thirty minute first labor, I rather doubted it.
Good luck. Baby will be here soon.

NONE. I tried this when I was 2 days overdue, and none of them worked. Sex, orange juice, walking, and everything else did nothing but give me false labor pains, and I found out later some were dangerous (such as sex, because the only way it will work is if you're already dilated, and sex at that time is VERY dangerous). I wound up 4 days overdue and the doctor had to induce labor herself with Pitocin, a stimulant that starts labor, and breaking my waters artificially. If you're smart, don't listen to anybody's suggestions and risk you or your baby's life.

sex, walks, nipple stimulation, spicy food, acupuncture.
i was a week overdue when my aunt told me a friend of hers ate eggplant and then went into labor a few hours later.
so what did i do? i hopped in the car, headed to olive garden, chowed down some eggplant parmesean, and sure enough...i was in labor within 2 hours.
desperate times call for desperate measures.

If your scared of the penetration part of sex, have the father stimulate you to orgasm, either with his hand, a clitoris vibrator or orally. All can be done without going inside you. The orgasms can offset labor.
The Dr most likely wont let you carry much over a week.

Rasberry herbal tea. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but I read it somewhere, and drank it, and my water broke 4 days before my due date.

Don't you think it would deeply irresponsible for anyone to recommend ways for you to induce labour, not knowing even how far along you are, etc?

How far along are you? If you are at least 37 weeks then try whatever. Any earlier would be stupid.
