What is your opinion of male and female genital piercings?

Male- cool, but gosh, just looking at them makes me wince. They look so painful! But on the right guy, cool. Mostly, though, I think they look better without.
Female- very hot. Particularly rings; I don't know why, but I like rings over barbells, even though they're the harder ones to maintain. I think finding out a woman has a genital piercing is one of the most erotic things for me!
I don't think anyone's crazy for doing it; I respect 'em (I'm so scared and embarrassed to do it, which is why it'll probably never happen for me . . . not to mention I suck at taking care of things, the way new piercings in delicate regions need to be).

While I respect the right to individuality, I cannot see why anyone would like to take a chance on lessening the genital sensations, having infections, tissue damage ec. I do not find them erotic, rather they are more of a turn-off. Pierced ears are one thing, pierced nipples, belly buttons, lips, or genitals are not my idea of a come-on. I guess if someone is into the S & M routine, there may be a use for it but not my cup of tea...

I cannot comment on a female genital piercing.
I am fascinated by Prince Albert piercings and have considered getting one myself. I cannot explain why I find them erotic, but I do. I understand from my research that they are less painful than most other piercing types and they heal quickly. Depending on the piercing, there may be some urination issues; but from what I have been told by pierced guys those issues have been somewhat exaggerated.
To sum up....I think they're hot.

I might get a couple after I'm post-op. I figure I'm going to have a surgeon cut that area all up and re-arrange everything, so why not put a little more metal down there? (I'm trans btw.)

Ouch!. I like to see a co__k ring on a hot, slim hairy chested man with a goatee. I have never been with a guy with his c__ck pierced. If they like it, let them do it.

OK, other than that, a nipple piercing or two can raise sensitivity in the bearer, I understand.
Other than that, I just don't get it. Of course, I have encountered them, but I mainly steer clear of them.

They can be very sexy, though the risk of infection, impotence, and loss of feeling for men is too high. Don't know what the risks are for women, but I imagine they are similar.
