I agree with the above, could be the temperature. That'll slow them down a bunch. But, could also be a problem with the water quality. Toxicities like ammonia, nitrites, or high nitrate levels would stress them like that as well.

the water temp.. must be off when even buy a little they slow down..they do this when there body are not as warm as they should be kick your hearter up a few not too much about 69-76 is whear mine have alway liked it also they seem to love the bubbler they play and swim threw it all day so just warm up the tank there not dead not yet anyways and see what happens

change 1/4 of your water---
siphoning it from the BOTTOM 1/4 of your tank - do it monthly (only) ammonia is heavier than water and sinks.
this is the biggest problem with all fish.
(wish i had a dime for the # of times I've answered this question on here)
i owned a pet shop successfully for 10 years
& and you can't afford to do that without a bit of knowing what to do. ------ i had only fish.
