I would be embarassed as an an American if I was naive about my own country let alone the world. No wonder some of you Americans don't realize what is happening and what has happened to your country. With tapes like this it doesn't look good to the rest of the world.

It was done by Australian Television so it is reality, but this as well proves something to me about some of you Americans and that is you are caught up in your own little worlds.

Now you understand why those of us who DO have a bit more knowledge and understanding respond as we do here!

Sadly, there are pockets of those who believe "Area 51" houses live aliens from outter space, UFO's have landed at the White House, the Burmuda Triangle has this huge hand that reaches up and grabs planes and ships from the high seas.

It's one thing to being a "monday morning quarterback" yet the answers given on your link were certainly embarassing to me!

To bad they didn't ask people with more intelligence! But, don't judge all by the few! Just like any other country on this globe...we all have our share of good...and not so good!

Best wishes!

I'm unable to view the video from my PC at work, but I'll still comment on your general point.

Americans are horribly naive and uninformed - I wholeheartedly agree with you. We're a divided people who largely avoid digging deeply into understanding the world we live in. We're also blissfully unaware of the principles upon which this nation was founded. We've lost sight of what our government's role was intended to be. Ultimately such ignorance and apathy will be our undoing.

The hardest reality for me to accept as an American is that our world is full of people who either don't care or simply don't posess the intelligence or will to stand for what's right. Sadly I'd put this number at about 70% of our world. That is why I'm so disheartened when it comes to affecting change...

Its already embarassing enough, Thanx. Every election our journalists highlight the general knowledge level of the average voter by asking the person on the street basic questions that any high school student would know the answers to. Of course they humiliate themselves on TV or radio by answering wrong or trying to make light of their ignorance. But I prefer to look at it from a less socially responsible perspective, if my fellow americans are arguing to be more catered to and less competitive, that just leaves more for the productive and motivated. We have laissez-faire economics here, even with education, standards of living, its up to the individual, not the government, how good or bad they want their situation to be.

People like that exist in every country in the world. I'm sure if you took a camera and walked up and down the streets or Moscow, Cairo, London, Johannesburg, Berlin, Toronto, Sydney, and Beijing, you'd find the same thing.

As far as not knowing about other countries, many people don't. I'm positive you don't know that much about America. Who has the ability to rule Constitutional Amendments unconstitutional? What's our third amendment to the Constitution? When was the Constitution ratified? Who was our 16th President? See, there are many questions people who don't live in the U.S. don't know, the same way Americans don't know a lot of info about other places.

It's sad that you and the other countries in the world have their hands out all the time and can't seem to make a decent life for your own people that you get into our business-please stabilize your country and worry about your own because when we get the jerk off Bush out that's exactly what we dumb Americans are going to do-nothing for you!!

We see evaluations that bash terrible regulations or corrupt persons, yet no longer the rustic. From my purpose standpoint, the time-honored public of clever individuals are waking as much as the monopolized media propaganda gadget, thinking the upward thrust of unrestrained authority and the usurpation of constitutional rights. there's a stable ethical backlash against the unjust conflict in Iraq. there is an awakening of loose theory and form of opinion. Freedom, liberty and justice are the noblest ideals of the USA. As such, people who criticize errant regulations are in fact the final patriots. we've seldom heard all of us different than non secular extremists actual "bash" us of a of america as an entire. people who've the expertise and braveness to speak out against corruption, lies and hypocrisy are actual people who maximum love your u . s .. we would desire to constantly no longer confuse valuable grievance and genuine patriotism with "bashing."

Uninformed and stupid people can be found anywhere in the world. The U.S. also has its fair share of idiots.

I am certainly content with my level of knowledge, but I certainly cannot speak for the majority of Americans. A good deal of the blame for their limited knowledge may be placed on U.S. public school educational system and just plain ignorance and laziness.

You are just as if not more ignorant than the people in your silly video. do you really think that everyone they spoke to that day was stupid or maybe, they spent hours upon hours videotaping and only came up with 5 minutes of stupid. Also that was in one city, in one county, of one state. Are all Canadians exactly the same in every place you go? If so i guess you are all as retarded as this guy.

Well, I know a majority of the world hates my country. I also know we have screwed things up in Iraq, but I think it's only right that we try to clean up our mess and not leave it on the Iraqis. This still doesn't mean that I'm not proud to be from this country. I'm glad I'm able to get up every day and know I have a family that will grow up in a safe environment and my kids will have the opportunity to pursue their dreams. This, and this alone makes me happy.
