How do i fix my laptop touchpad? The silver coating has worn off half of my laptops touchpad.?

Is there any way to fix this fairly cheaply? It makes the mouse waaayyyy to sensitive and registers clicks when i havent clicked and makes my pointer move in freaky ways.

Get a cordless mouse, I never did like the pad.
