Is he asking for too much cake or is he being too selective about where he's willing to play?

Folks, he's not THAT old (Chelios is old) and he can still skate and run a power play - two things most NHL clubs can use pleanty of. So, Bondra and Perrault can find work, but a future hof'er can't?

Ideally the Rangers should sign him for the rest of the year and let him retire properly, as a New York Ranger.

He had lost his luster quite a bit in his last few years with the rangers and since being traded from the rangers, he hasn't been spoken of very much. he was truly a great player but he has become old and some people age faster than others and have more wear and tear causing them to have to hang it up earlier than we would like them to.

Yes, he is old, and Chelios.. Chelios is actually a good defenseman.. not just for his age, as a defenseman in general. He's one of those guys you look up to. Leetch definetly is old, he may break his hip.

The Rangers should sign him since no other team has signed him yet. I would like to see him retire as a New York Ranger.

its the salary cap that hurting teams they have to be careful on who they pick. and yes he is asking for way to much as his career has been on the decline, but if some teams do some moves come trade deadline and if they have some CAP room then yes they will most likely pick him up but he will need to bring his offer down a little.
