well try another brand... try things that are water proof.. you must have real oily skin or wattery eyes... if its oily.. try puttins some powder.. or foundation... and then put water proof eye liner... i suggest liquid.. it doesnt smugg as easy,.. but there are pencil liners that dont smugg as easy... MAC eye liner... Khol i believe (i have it in white) it works wonders... its what i use... and the gel liner... its good.. it looks nice... but its a bit hard to keep in place.. and at some point you will have to re do your eye liner because no matter how good it is.. it fades after a while.. but it shouldnt be every five minutes... so yea.. try that...

It might be due to the particular pencil eye liner that you are using. You need to look for one with a lot of pigment in it, that lasts a long time. The softer-textured ones are usually easier to apply. Try a few different ones out on the back of your hand before you buy one, to see which is best. You could also try layering eyeshadow over the top of your eyeliner with a fine brush to give it more staying power. Or perhaps choose a darker colour of pencil. Liquid eyeliners give a much harder effect-which may not be what you are looking for. I personally prefer pencils as they give a more natural look and you can build up the intensity for evening etc.

Hi this happens to me i dont like using liquid eyeliner unless im on a night out as its to dark. But i have the same problems as you, It never shows up. But i think the trick is the pencil has to be super sharpe. If you use it on one one eye then you will need to sharpen it to do the other. Or you could try just using some powder eyeshadow. Dampen you brush then dip into your eye shadow you want to use as eyeliner and then apply to the top and bottom.

Trick, either run it under a steaming hot faucet just before applying or light a match or lighter and heat the tip for only a quick second. Not too long or it will melt. While it is still warm but not soft apply. This works. Liquid liner can be very messy. Pencil liner tends to stay on longer and be more controllable when applying. I wouldn't change to liquid just yet.

try using liquid, or powder eye liner... Pencil eyeliner doesn't show up on me either. I like the powder eye liner because it is far easlier to use than liquid liner.
Good luck!

Liquid liners have a more vibrant, long-lasting line as opposed to pencil that can fade or look smudgy. go to the M.A.C. website and look under EYES. They have many different options. But if you're budget conscious use the internet to read reviews on different drugstore brands. Good Luck!

for years i had to use a lighter on pencil liner to get it hot so it would show up. but i tried the twist up kind like someone else mentioned and i LOVE it. i'm too shaky for liquid eyeliner even though i love the look.

I don't understand why pencil liner doesn't show up on you. You must be using a light color. I don't like liquid liner, it's too harsh. Choose a brown or dk. grey pencil liner. Line your eyes then smudge lightly with a clean cotton swab. Looks smokey and sexy.

you might want to change the sort of pencil eye liner you use. i am not a big fan of pencil liners but if you have to use a kohl liner. they are thicker, richer and softer than normal ones. but i would say try liquid eye liners, they are difficult for beginners but ones you get the hang of it you would love them. they stay looking wet and fresh all day. if you are thinking of buying one, i would recommend estee Lauder's pure color liquid liner. a bit pricy at £17 but amazing stuff and lasts for a long time
