It might, or might not. When you get these pains, lay down and get your feet above your head for 20 minutes. If it is labor, nothing stops it. If it is "false" labor, I forget the medical term, it will help it pass. I had problems like this for the last 3 months of my second pregnancy. Never went in to regular labor. I had to have a C-section due to other difficulties in the 8th month. Relax and get your feet up every day. Keep your doctor informed of how many and how often when you have the contractions. Keep a notebook handy. Congrats!

Normally you should talk to your doctor about any little thing in your pregnancy.
Sounds like you could be in the first stage of labor (latent) in which you begin to dilate. The hospital will usually not admit you until you have dialted to a 4. (I sat at a 3 for 2 weeks!)

lol Eventually. I mean, if you are already dilated it's only a matter of time now. I started having contractions in the morning the day before I had my baby. It's different for everybody, but my guess is two days for you. Congrats and good luck!

It will eventually, but you are probably feeling the practice contractions known as Braxton Hicks.
Don't focus on the dilation, just have your hospital bag ready and remember that you will know when it is the real thing...there's no mistaking it!

Yes, it certainly could. I started having braxton-hicks contractions about a month before my son arrived. The closer I got to labor, the more frequently I got them and the longer they lasted. About a week before he arrived, I got so many of them that I started timing them and called th doctor about it. When I told her I wasn't having any pain, she said it's not real labor until I do. The very next weekend he arrived, 1 week early of his due date.

It could be Braxton hicks. They are pains that you can get in your back or anywhere before you actually have contractions. They can actually happen threw out your pregnancy. I would not say that you are not having real contractions. If this is your first baby, believe me you will know the real thing when it happens!!!GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Maybe, maybe not. These are probably Braxton Hicks and could go on for weeks until you begin labor.

Could just be braxton hicks... (fake contractions getting your body ready for labour) .. or it could lead you into labour. I had braxton hicks for 3 weeks, then labour for 38 hours! It all depends.. talk to your doctor about it

It could... it could also be the "practice" contractions (they do get closer together as your baby gets closer to his/her birthday.)
