Columbine flowers...?

What's the best way to grow them?
I'm growing them in a container, what size is best?
What kind of columbine is the best to grow?

I always just shakes the seed pods from the spent flower where I want them to come up the next year. They are profuse self-seeders. (I'm in zone 6)

They grow directly in the ground. They seem to do best when they have part sun/part shade - but I've also found them to be versitile. They're volunteered in places that are sunny. They do just fine - they just die back a little sooner than the ones with part shade.

They bloom in spring, and when the stalks dry in early summer, just take the pods and sprinkle the seeds out whereever you want them next year. They are short lived annuals/biennials - so they will not "go all summer". After flowering, and producing seed pods, the leaves die back by early summer, and other things grow in their place for mid-summer and fall. But they don't seem to mind.

Mine resow themselves in the garden.

Depending in what zone you live in (I am in 8b) they can be directly sown out of doors.

If you grow them inside, not too large a pot using seeding soil (very fine and sterilized). They should sprout, but may not flower until the following year.

at the starting up the leaves are type of rolled/curled up mutually and then they open up more beneficial and grow to be a separate leaf on a stem. The leaf is formed like a clover in trouble-free terms it isn't 3 separate leaves like a clover, it is more beneficial ruffled searching on the aspect. The leaves stay closer the bottom of the plant and stocks improve up through the middle.
