sorry you fell for this old scam. chance of catching, slim to none.
As embarasing as it is you need to report the crime to the fbi.
they can trace things like that but ususally user id is false and leads to an empty nest. If done fast enough occtional they actually do catch people but the longer you wait the trail goes cold
expensive leason at least it was only $900 dollars and not more
A variation of this scam has been around for years. Lately it is selling cars, the seller is to a third party is owed a larger sum and
seller is asked to cash and swap funds buyers funds are not good dispite cashiers check or money order they are just fake.
Sorry again
good luck in the future.

If it was on eBay the User ID was stolen, you're going after the wrong person. These scams originate in eastern Europe and many are related to the Russian mafia. Take you loss and move on. Next time pay fair market price for an item, there are no shortcuts.

ebay? With his user id, you can do a lot. If you are using a site like ebay, you can probably find what else he is selling. Click on his username, and it will tell you everything. You should have a proof of payment through western union. Darn that sucks. It will be a hassle, but good luck!

people of this caliber hide behind false fronts so even if you did have his server ID that would only;y tell you his server location. Try filing with police in Internet crime division ...may have to go to a large city to find that officer or call. Small towns don't have the resources to pursue Internet crime.
