that from 2002-2006 the WWE programming was voted the worst wrestling programming on television by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Monday Night RAW was given the title for 2002,2003,and 2006. Smackdown! received it in 2004 and 2005. Now I'm not brand loyal between WWE and TNA because to me crap is crap no matter who is putting it out, so I will watch which ever is better at the time. But so many people claim that the WWE is just so stellar and everything else "sucks", so I would like to get some opinions on these "awards". And to any idiot that thinks of answering with "it's fake" or anything along those lines, I don't associate with idiots, so just keep it moving. Talk to me people.

For the last two idiots that answered, you must be complete fools that cannot read. I asked for intelligent answers only. I don't support any brand over the other b/c honestly hey both need work. I would hope RAW would boast bigger ratings than a company that has been around 5 years. You wanna scream suck it? You probably have one you cross-dresser. And I will come get some of the WWE fans. So come with it runts!

how could raw possibly be the worst show, what with great angles like the katie vick saga, vinces kiss my *** club, big vis aka sexual chocolate 2, spirit squad and everyones favorite, exploiting the name of eddie guerrero after he dies. now try to tell me that doesnt make for great ratings?

I did see that some time ago and really it doesn't mean much to me. I have been watching wrestling for 20 years now so I have seen wrestling go through its ups and downs. I also flip back and forth between TNA and WWE because I think they both have something good to offer. But really that stat doesn't mean much to me because how long has TNA been around on the main stream television. TNA didn't even become a concern with the WWE until this last year. So the awards for 02, 03, and really 04 don't say much because it was just the WWE that was known about. So someone has to win the award. But these awards from magazines like OW and PWI it doesn't mean much. During the Monday Night Wars between WCW and WWF, WCW beat out the WWF in ratings for like 80 weeks or whatever it was. But at the same time, during the entire war, WWF won the award for best wrestling promotion every year. They just don't mean much. Good observation though.

Am i aware? I could have known that. Im not surprised. Seriously. Wait can i just say that i noticed you using punctuations and proper spelling and grammar? I usually don't notice people doing that but this is great. Someone around here knows proper English for the moment. Okay so anyways, back to the question. I am a true wrestling fan, i don't watch the WWE since it has got nothing to do with my title at all. I prefer watching ROH and TNA, for the wrestling. I only watch those things for wrestling, not for entertainment, yet, proper wrestling is entertainment. Currently, i don't watch wrestling, but if i would, ROH would be the first thing i would watch. TNA is kind of like the WWE and it does keep on mentioning the WWE. Although i like that better than the WWE. I don't really watch wrestling. These awards HAVE proved that the WWE sucks and that there is something out there which is much better, and i would have to agree. Many people say it's the best wrestling business around. That sucks. The fact that people say that sucks because it isn't the best around, there are way more better things to watch and these awards have proved us that. And i really don't like the fact that people call it fake, to me it's SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT at it's worst for the WWE i guess.

Have a nice day!

I think the reasoning behind these awards is that it is that particular time frame that saw Raw and SmackDown start to have less actual wrestling taking place per show.

WWE certainly has a great pool of talent, probably the best of the talent out there, which is why everyone will say that WWE is the best.

The problem is that nowadays there is a lot more talking, promos and other crap taking place that only about a quarter of the show has actual wrestling, and people are beginning to get sick of this.

I think it is the best wrestling program (WWE) compared to what's out there. I find watching TNA boring and not as exciting. Now I understand that a lot, and a do mean A LOT, of the SD programming has been dreadful in the past few years, though it has gotten better with Teddy Long as the GM.

I hate the wrestling observer. They give awards to the wrong people. carlito was a runner up for overrated wrestler. Did they watch carlito? Carlito has greatly improved this past year. And not to mention UFC getting awards when they are not even professional wrestling. Which is bogus. Its ridiculous. And yes some promotions have better wrestling than others but everybody has their faults. So I wouldn't pay attention to those awards. Its crap.

Well, sometime experts... arn't.

Sure, WWE can be voted the worst wrestling programming on television by one magazine. The millions of people that watch it every week, however, trump what WON thinks.

I'm sure WWE feels real badly that the Wrestling Observer doesn't like most of their stuff. They're crying... all the way to the bank.

I had seen several tv rating where Raw and Smackdown were rated as the 1-4 (they divided them up into one hour intervals) shows for the week. To me TNA is crappy because they use has-beens(Jeff Jarrett & Sting) and have horrible storylines and even worse acting (James Mitchell). Mike Tenay and Don West are worse combined than Michael Cole and Joey Styles individually. And that is saying something because Michael Cole and Joey Styles are horrible. However WWE is not without its faults as well. Michael Cole and Joey Styles are two of them. I also think some of WWE's storylines are bad. And they tend to run those storylines into the ground (John Cena v Chris Jericho circa 2005)

In summation, both TNA and WWE have they're faults, but WWE is by far the better show.

I can definitely believe that. Some of the angles were so downright embarassing that I didn't want to admit to anyone that I was a wrestling fan. With it being 2007 I hope that it brings a better year of sports entertainment.
