well if a man is married to a girl and later realises that she is of an immoral character, pshycic, and that she had hooked this man with complete intentions of extortion, then one day runs away, now after almost a year if this man wants to remarry, without a divorce from the first lady, as she will be extorting money for giving a divorce, is there no provision in the indian law for these type of women, that a good cultured man can set free from her without much hassles?

See if you qualify for an annulment, this will disolve your marriage as if it had never exsisted, however it is illegal to remarry as long as your first marriage is not resolved legally.

Look dear, there are many ways, like in this scenerio, I think the person should first make an FIR for the same that his wife isn't staying with him since one year or so. With that he can file a divorce case. If it is proved in the court that the couple are not living together then one sided divorce is possible. But without giving divorce getting married is more dangerous as it will surely result into imprisonment and nothing else as the court will be in favour of the wife who went away.
Better you consult a very good lawyer.

You must file for divorce from this first woman. If you do intend to remarry. If you do remarry without a divorce from the first wife it is bigamy and unlawful in most contries. I would strongly suggest consulting an attorney In some states you may file a divorce on the grounds of abandonment.

What is the other side of the story? Her side. The law gives both sides their day in court. You say that you are a good cultured man. You have married this girl before your priest or church, in the presence of God. Marriage is a sacrament. You cannot break this sacrament and get remarried in the presence of God unless the previous marriage is declared a nullity for reasons defined in the scriptures. Your only reason it appears is that you want to marry another and without losing your wealth. Your only defined wealth is your wife. Go search her out. Talk to her. Make up with her. In the church, we utter these words; "I take thee to be my wife, in sickness or in health; . . . . . . . . ; till death do us part. Go and make up. Thinking any other way will take away many years of your life.

If you were married in the US, then no. You have to obtain a divorce before marring the second woman. Now if you were married elsewhere, you need to contact that country and ask about there divorce laws and how they work with US laws. Good luck!

Unfortunately he cannot remarry until he is divorced in the US, it's called bigamy and he can do jail time for that. There are ways that he can get granted a divorce without the other party being there for hearings.

Sorry I live in the U.S. if you want to talk Indian law I suggest you stick to the sites in that area rather than a U.S. based message board. Here in the U.S. it is illegal for anyone to marry someone before they are awarded a final decree of divorce from their first marriage.

if the first marriage is a legal document and on file at a court house, then it is illegal to remarry and no one legally will do it.
so divorce the first, on grounds of abandonment, then remarry.
