Where can I find value of stock purchased from 1971 thru 1992

There was no Verizon between 1971 and 1992. Instead, there were various "baby Bells" such as New York Telephone which became Nynex, which then became Verizone. There was also merger action along the way. It's a complex problem and there is no immediate answer. If you did hold the stock of Verizon predecessors, than it would be automatically converted for you by your brokerage.

Contact your broker, they have records of all your transactions, otherwise the Symbol for the stock is VZ and the value is always what it is currently being bid at. You can get a quote on the Yahoo financial page and you can look at the chart for the past history of the stock.

Verizon Wireless was another company before it was called Verizon, renamed in 1989.
