Hey my brother said to me,thats what most americans are like, rude and sungle minded,i dont agree, but oh well
this man on itv was being interviewed and he said that the brittish just cowerd in ww2 and sucked their thumbs right the way through it,did anyone see
well i dont know but i wander how many people he offended.
Now after seeing Topgear last night i saw the three presenters go off around america in rubbish cars and they were nearly killed by uneducated single minded americans that didn't like what they had written on their car.......
is this what america is,"you'll get shot if you go into a certain street"????

No I didn't see it but - as an American - I assure you that we're not all like that, any more than all Brits are like Gordon Ramsay runnin' around spoutin' bloody hell, and the "F"-word. Though I must say there are some places where you can get shot at for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and saying the wrong thing.

Generalisation , I really hate it, but why do folk bite at it? That's the really strange part. The list is really too long , Brits have rotten teeth, Americans are big and fat, Muslims are terrorists, and nearer to the point the bit about the French all being cowards.
I'm all for free speech but surely a line should be drawn some where? The only point I can see in this generalisation is to ferment trouble, but why?
A laugh is a laugh but to brand any Nation 'cowards' is another matter, that of course includes the French their resistance movement contained some of the greatest hero's of all times!
As for the Brits the number of dead soldiers cant all be put down to 'thumb sucking while in action', can it?
I know nothing about this American guy or what his motive would be for making a statement like that, but couldnt he possibly be just one of the many nutters we have scattered around the globe?
World war II was a tragic event, the allies fought together and many died together, the allies included many Nations Russia, Brit and Americans, also French etc etc etc. The guy concerned is just a nut!
As for your other bit of the question , I assume you are comparing the streets of America with the streets of the UK?
We are all safe in the UK walking the streets are we?
No street shootings here? No nutty drivers about? Where is it you live?
Did they film Alice in wonderland there?

I think he was just really upset and unable to deal with the facts of what had happened. He loves his country (and why not) and faced with the unpalatable truth put to him by the ITN journalist, went into patriotic-babble overdrive. Interesting to see him go back 60 years in order to commend American troops. I'm English and we English like to trash establishment, Americans are far more straight laced and God-fearing and more likely to defend their own. I actually think it was a bit crass ITN asking him stuff in the first place.

That particular "Gentleman" on ITV should have put his brain in gear before speaking and certainly should read up on modern history,I would say that his comments were a tad misguided!
As for Top Gear well that was a bit of an eye opener.

i did not see all of it - yet i imagine you've misinterpreted what they meant. at the same time as they refered to the grave as being pathetic - they meant for a guy that grow to be wronged and now shown harmless - it is going to were a grave that stood out for him as a beacon of his innocence and the injustice served upon him. no longer left as a virtually paupers grave. i do no longer imagine they meant any disrespect. If I actually have the incorrect end of the stick then I even ought to agree including your comments - it is disgraceful
