I have 3 small kids (8 mos, 3 & 9) and wife (5 of us total) and I live in Atlanta Ga. Where can I go on vacation for around $500 (not including gas or food)

Have you considered Myrtle Beach. It is very kid friendly and quite a bit cheaper than Florida. They have lodging for every budget. You can order a free nice book at www.myrtlebeachlive.com

I would suggest Florida... there are many attractions for both the adults and kids to enjoy at the same time. Lets not forget the booths where they offer the free cash and tickets just for sitting through a presentation.... so while you are down there you can earn some spending money and save yours. Enjoy!!!

I'd say atlanta, or one of the islands off of south carolina even up to Virginia Beach where you get the beach and all that comes with it, which shouldn't be too expensive if you book lodging through priceline.com's name your own price option. However, it all depends how long you plan on staying anywhere.
