I am 25 yrs and I got married last year. Lately I've lost all my sexual libido. This is driving my husband nuts, bcoz I promis e to get better evry next day when nothing improves! Now,I only like to cuddle up a lot and only give sweet kisses that do not arouse me enough tobe sexually excited. Since mid December, my husband is redundant and we spent a lot of time together at home because I'm unemployed and will start university studies next fall. Is lack of space between us causing this problem? I also wonder whether it has anything to do with my contraceptive pills (Min-Ovral 28). Any advice?

I would not say I'm necessarily stressed over my husband's no job, he has a seasonal job with a diving expertise enterprise. The prospects of getting contracts is low in winter months, so he;s at home a lot with govt benefits rather than being redundant.

Well, it could be your contraceptives (when I took them, my sex drive plunged.), it could be the stress of your husband losing his job (stress is a high libido killer), or, if you take any other medicine, like an anti-depressant, that could be it too.
Don't give up...but if you can manage up the cash to do this, go to couples therapy. It might help figure out why you're not as amorous as you once were.

There can be a lot of things that can cause a woman to lose her sexual drive. Stress, psychological issues, physical, hormones etc.
I suffered lack of sex drive for several years. I just didn't want it, with my boyfriends. Fortunately my now husband helped me over come that with patience and some outside help.
There are a couple of different herbs you can take:
L-Arginine: which is an amino acid. It helps with sex drive. Women need much smaller quantites then men do on a daily basis but it is a great help to those suffering low sex drive. Also it helps build lean muscle, among other functions.
Yohimbe: It's not just for men, but that is how it is normally marketed. This is what I used.
Neither of these two had side effects for me - and I haven't heard of any existing.
Start off slow and have your husband help you. If you try one of these supplemental herbs they take a few days to kick in. It took me about 3 weeks to fully recover from my problem, but now I am better then I ever have been.
Sometimes, birth control pills can cause a lack of sex drive. Ironic isn't it? The above herbs are safe to use with birth control pills - though you might consider switching to a different form, i.e.diaphram or spermacide, if you still can't get anywhere. Talk to your doctor about other options - I'm not aware of a birth control pill out there that's sure not to effect sex drive. Trust me, I've been on almost all of them because of endometriosis.
Good luck - and remind your husband that half the fun of getting there is the trying.

It could well be the b.c. pill, or the stress of both of you being unemployed and at home all day, or the normal crash in lust after a couple has been together a while. Try switching b.c. brands... if you like the Min-Ovral, Alesse/Levlite is the same drug combo, just a lower dose.
The other possible problems are trickier to fix. You can try having sex without being too interested (use lube if you aren't really aroused). It doesn't sound like fun, but sometimes you'll get interested once the sex is actually ongoing. See if you and your husband can try doing new things together: sexually, but also just in your life... new hobbies, new adventures, etc. And make it clear that he still has to put in effort to keep your interest up, even though you are still married. Boredom saps the libido like nothing else. You might also consider some counseling... loss of libido is one sign of clinical depression.

Hey I am having the same problem. For me I know that it is the Pill. I going to try Today's Sponge instead. All those hormones just don't agree with everybody. I always feel my best when I am off the pill.
I will keep you posted!

It's the birth control pills. Too much estrogen has made your testosterone (yes, women have some) go down, so you feel like you just want to cuddle up but not have sex. That's what estrogen does.
Try a new form of birth control.
