It hesitates when shifting into the final gear until the cool temperature light goes off. Is this something to be concerned about? The car's user manual says that you shouldn't let it "warm up" before driving it.

I assume this is an automatic transmission we are speaking of. A large percentage of transmission problems, poor shifting, slipping and cold performance, can be solved by having the transmission serviced at regular intervals, every 25000 miles for instance. This includes changing the fluid and filter screen and cleaning the pan. Go to a reputable shop with competent technicians, not those "lube it" joints on the corner.

Check the transmission fluid level according to the instructions on the dipstick. Sounds like the level might be low.

This car is under the manufacturers warranty. Take the car back today with your complaint. Something is terribly wrong

ok u see that is why there is a cold temp light on ur car so u dont drive it when its cold turn it on and let it warm up.

and the only reason they would ever tell u not to let it warm up is if they want u to blow your engine
