Hotel food is awful and i think the main reason is it is cooked in a way that is convenient to them, not the customer.
awful tea and cofee, soup with too much cream cos there's been a run on the soup,Sanwiches made from cheap sliced bread showing no imagination, overcooked veg etc..

It's awful because 95% of the clientele are hotel guests who are too lazy to take their business elsewhere. Also, most of the diners are on expense accounts, so are less likely to complain when the food is shockingly bad.

I agree, it depends on the hotel. I love the bakery at the Swiss Hotels. I love the Sunday brunch at the Holiday Inn Select, Naperville.

I don't find hotel food mediocre at all! If it was, i would complain! I've just come back from spending a 2 night break in a tiny gastro-pub in Dorset and the food was amazing!

I don't usually stay at hotels with restaurants, so I wouldn't know. The most I get is the continental breakfast at places like LaQuinta and Holiday Inn Express. Especially when they have the do-it-yourself waffles...those are awesome!

I would agree totally - spending £100 per night should bring you top quality - have your thought about writing to the hotel manager to air your views - I would.

because they cater to alot of people day in and day out, and it usually depends on WHERE you stay. I stayed at the Raddison in Las Vegas, it wasn't horribly bad.
