He never made the suit, he was wrapped in it when he was younger from his mother from Krypton thats the most famous one I know, There are other cartoons and TV shows that show that Martha Kent did but I believe his Birth Mother is the most famous one of how he got his suit

he went to the men's wearhouse and took them up on their guarentee. he told george zimmer to make him a skin tight darn cyan suit, with red underwear over the pants. then he said he wanted a red cape made of lead. george zimmer super deliever and superman really did like the way he looked.

It was supposed to be his earth mother, making it from the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby. It however doesnt make sense as the suit seems to be bullet/ fire/ bomb proof so how did she sew it and cut it with scissors?
