How about the truth! What a novel concept! Here's how I would do it: ask the teacher "would you like the truth or an excuse?" Then tell the teacher truthfully why you haven't completed the assignment and ask the teacher if you can hand it in with a bit of a loss of marks. By you telling the truth and offering to accept the consequences, the teacher will more likely be less angry, unless of course this kind of thing is a regular habit of yours. It always amazed me when my students came up with all kinds of weird stories and they expected me to believe them, so I always forgave the ones who told the truth because they showed maturity by accepting the consequences of their behaviour. Good Luck PS. the longer and detailed a story is, the more likely it is to be a lie.

well u didi ur homework , went to have a shower and left it in the bathroom windowsill, got soap in your eyes, blindly grabbed a towel to get it out, cept it WASNT a towel it was your homework, so then u put it in the washing machine to get rid of the soap cept tht ripped it 2 pieces and you spent the next hour and a half glueing it back together with No More Nails, you put it on the washing line to dry but a fox nicked it for its bedding so now you have no idea where it is =]

Be careful about this one. Tell the truth. The teacher will either respect you for answering honestly, or you will suffer the consequences for actions you honestly took. Good luck.

Because of global warming you feel your conscience could not allow you to waste the paper, and therefore you will never again be submitting any homework!!

Say you/brother/dad etc. (choice of relative optional) has some health issues and accidentally urinated on it. Awkwardness should avoid any further questioning.
