Mascara major question.?

Question

My mom says mascara will make your eyelashes fall out faster when i will get older.
My friend said that water proof mascara will make my eyelashes fall out.
So whats the truth about mascara???
(help the swimming unit at school is coming up and i don't know what kind to wear!?!?!!

there is nothing wrong with mascara, waterproof mascara IS bad for ur eye lashes, it makes them brittle
THere are also eye lash conditionin primers out there that u can put on ur eyelashes before the mascara to strengthen them.

im a makeup artist and i never suggest using waterproof mascara!

Neither thing is true. Any hair operates on its own life schedule. Another myth is that shaving hair will cause it to grow back faster and thicker and darker. Often told to young girls by parents who want them to be children forever. Ask yourself this though: if it really did, why wouldn't bald people, men especially, shave the living daylights out of their noggins???

If your eyelashes are going to fall out faster when you are older, or at all, they will do so at their own pace and will NOT be affected by your use of mascara, waterproof or otherwise. Not even the agitation of the hairs during application or the weight of mascara will affect them. Would mother babble on about brushing your hair 100 strokes a day if agitation makes it fall out?

So don't worry! Especially the waterproof mascara fright your friend is pushing on you. If so, wouldn't they get sued by the millions of women who don't remove it before showering every day? Sued, sued, sued! Don't worry, you're cool.

Also, don't worry about the "health" of any hair, ever. All hair is utterly dead material. There is nothing live in or about any hair, anywhere. In England, where they have laws about advertising, commercials cannot say they improve the health of hair since that would be a lie. Only the follicle it comes from is alive and you will not be affecting the follicle with any make-up.

No. water-proof mascara WON'T make your eyelashes fall out. just put on a little for your swimming unit and u should be fine! but be sure to take a make-up sponge (before you go to bed) and soak it(the spong) in water and then run it through your eyelashes to get the mascara off.

first of all the best thing to do is NOT wear mascara at the swimming unit...duh...BUT if u REALLY have to wear waterproof mascara. mascara dosent make ur eyelashes fall out early but the they dont help the health of eyelashes....dont worry nothing will be happening to them soon

I am 47 years old dont mean to put my age out there but i have been wearing mascara since teen years and i still have mine.... Use waterproof also it won't smudge when u get up in the mornings... now go swimming.

waterproof mascara isnt good for swimming because it still smudges-waterproof mascara is really just forwhen you cry. . .and also mascara is fine it doesnt make your eyelashes fall out faster! Dont worry and good luck

if you put alot of coats on then it will make them fall out faster then usual. and if you pull while using a eyelash curler, it should only pinch, not pull. water proof mascara doesnt make your eyelashes fall out however.

the key with any make-up is total skin care...always make sure you wash off any make-up at night...and now they have mascara which actually contain conditioners and moisturizers...
