This is a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882). it means that in the last analysis everything is changable and therefore transitory, or even futile. But if you have your mind, your brain, you will be able to figure out which things are of more value.

The issue really is one of prioritization. Things that seem important now, when viewed from 5-10 years from now may not seem as important. The question is, at the time you thought something was important, was the integrity of your mind strong enough to put the issue in proper perspective?
