Dip them in almost boiling water for a few seconds, then lay them out as straight as they will lay until cool. Don't hold them in the water for too long. If dipping them once doesn't do it, repeat the process. That should do the trick.

Man, I hate when my circular needles do that.
I don't know how to avoid that, but here's what I do know....
I have one pair of really expensive needles (I think I paid about 10 bucks just for this one set) and because of the quality, they don't twist. If you feel like replacing all your circulars, you could consider that. I don't know what the name of the brand it, but they are silver and the circular part is black. If you have a local yarn store, they will be able to tell you.
Another thought---circular needles come in several different lengths. If they are twisting, maybe you could use a shorter length one? I only have one size for each of my circulars, and I'm too cheap to buy shorter ones, so I suffer through.

Some people dip them into hot water to soften the wire, and then let them hang to dry.
