i love women who are of most shapes and sizes but size 0 is not healthy at all - at the other end of the spectrum- obese women are not healthy either. It is about time that people realized the healthy is better- and the styles depend on the body type

No they are not good role models at all, even if they are naturally like that, they shouldn't be the sort of women we are defining as beautiful because it makes girls who aren't naturally like that do whatever it takes to be like that. And that of course leads to anorexia, bulimia and self-esteem issues.
To be fair though, I don't think they are the only problem. Until the media and fashion companies start catering and advertising healthy sized women, and women who are bigger, then it won't matter if they ban size 0 models because there's still the size 2 models (is it 2? I'm UK so size 0 is actualy size 4, then the next size up would be size 6 in Uk, which i'm assuming is size 2?) who are the only ones that are being shown to be beautiful. You can be a UK size 12 or 14 (I'm guessing US sizes 8-10?) and be really healthy and beautiful, but those sizes aren't shown on the runways or in the magazines. That's where the problems are.

Not! These models and the fashion industry are portraying a negative image of what beauty should be for every women. Beauty comes in all shapes, heights, and sizes, not just a size 0 and 5'11. Women are suppose to be feminine, have curves, and be healthy. Size 0 models are usually unhealthy, looks very unattractive, and like a kid instead a woman. Personally, I don't think they are roles models and should be banned. WE need real women on the runway.

i dont think these models are 'role models.' they generally just walk around in clothes, and rather infrequently stand for something. its just a job, and one that does not really contribute too much to society. i think the designers themselves are more role models than the models. they are just there to make the clothes look good (and to get technical, a size 0 model would cost less to clothe than a size 6).
if they're naturally size 0 (or can get to a size 0 easily w/o compromising their health), then i think its lovely for them to do something considered so glamorous by so many people. i think they need to gain a little weight though, so their thighs don't look so frighteningly emaciated (some models' legs are fine, but others' are frighteningly skeletal).

I don't think anyone should be a role model just because of their physical appearance. As far as a size 0 model...that is extremely unhealthy. A woman should have some hips and a booty....not look like a skeleton.

I think it looks unhealthy and sets a poor example for young girls that come to think they have to be waifish to be beautiful.
I've always been thin (I'm a size 1/2 in most womens stuff and a 3 in Juniors) at 23, but then I'm only about 5'6", which is several inches shorter than the average model. My weight matches my height and activity level (I play ice hockey 3-5 times a week). The same cannot be said for most models.

there is not any such difficulty as a uk length 0. The smallest uk length is a 4, that's the equivilent of a US length 0 (measurements 31-23-33). confident, that's ridiculously skinny for a women human beings that's around 5ft10-6ft. those are the measurements of a 10-12 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous! HTH : )

Yeah but they are role model to kids because for most girls it is there dream to be a model. Therefore girls try to be like them and slim down to there size which is very unhealthy. My personal opinion is that they should be banned!!

size 0.... eewwee.... i think that ppl that stress sooo hard to get to size 0 even if they don't have the body build for it just to be a model are anarexic looking. they need to quit puttin so many ppl that are a certian size and start hiring models that are just plain BEAUTIFUL regardless of their stupid pants size

They aren't role models... who would look up to someone who doesn't eat, binges, and uses laxatives to get skinny? Not my kind of role model...
